Sharon Romano is a native Californian who grew up in a rural community. She attended Diablo Valley College, and San Francisco State University, where she majored in accounting and finance.

Over a 25 year span, Sharon worked for Silicon Valley start-ups, a not-for-profit organization that trained people with disabilities, as well as global corporations. During that time, she also conducted classes in business communications, including workshops in effective public speaking and presentation skills, accounting fundamentals, and business writing.

Since moving to Calaveras County in 2003, Sharon has volunteered her skills to community organizations such as the Calaveras Volunteer Center, the Calaveras Senior Center, and the Valley Springs Youth and Family Center. She served on the Board of Directors of the Calaveras County Arts Council, and on the Commission on Aging, the San Andreas Progressive Club and the Calaveras Women’s Network, just to name a few.

In 1999, Sharon started a consulting business that helped new and small businesses develop business plans and sales strategies. She has also designed websites and marketing materials, and provided computer training.

Sharon still volunteers time designing and creating websites, fliers and brochures for various community organizations throughout the county, and serves on the Voting & Language Accessibility Advisory Committee (VAAC/LAAC). One of her favorite projects is to maintain the Calaveras County Resource Guide for Seniors. She provides the file to any organization serving seniors at no cost for them to print and distribute.
